Right now i am in the momment of trying to get my gold clown knife(6 1/2 inches) off of feeders..when i bought him it seemed that they fed him feeders..and i'm trying to give him hikari cichlids sinkers..is that a good idea? or should i try something else?..also how did you get your ck off feeders?

Starvation. Leave the sinkers for 5 minutes if the Ck does not eat it then take it out and repeat. Remember survival instincts kick in before the Ck will realize hes about to die. Last tip : Don't give up.

thank you! also..whats a good size tank for him alone? would a 75 or a 55 gallon be good enough?
He needs a lot bigger tank than a 75.

this is wrong:)i have had mine die of starvation, please let the knives reach a min of 7 inch before training them, a young knife is still fragile

try hikari floating stix.......

:iagree:

I also had my RCK accept earthworms both live and FREEZE DRIED:headbang2
This will also put some size and weight on them very quickly..GL

Try freeze dried shrimp. If you have enough water movement, he will start eating that immediately. Then start pre-soaking some quality cichlid floating pellets with the freeze dried shrimp. After a while, slowly taper off how much freeze dried shrimp you are putting in the shrimp/pellet mixture.

Or not. lol. Didn't read your previous post.
