i have been looking into getting some marbles and seems like they are not readily available. i have fond some ranging from 4" to 6" on occasion and non of them even look like marble's? i know brad has some nice ones and spot fin has a nice F these ray's look almost like pearls. what are the nice marble patterns like when they are pups? is there a lot of pattern change in marble's like there is with some black rays? i am looking to improve my stock. i just see a lot of common motoro's from Peru nice but nothing exciting. i think i prefer Columbian but i don't see them often. i think rays will be in season in a few months do you think there going to be better variations available? if anyone has some pics of young nice marble's that would be great. share your experience please.

Dont wait your time with 5" motoros in hopes they end up being nice rays. At 7-9 inches they will show if there going to be super lookin Marble Motoros
 
I'll post some pics in a few days of what my female looked like when brought her home. You'll be surprised at the transformation. I think she was about 8" then.
My male marble is nice too, but nothing like the female.

Recently, there was an ad in the buy/sell forum from a fellow on the east coast with some marbled pups for sale. They were nice looking.
 
aquascape has some nice marbleds for sale.... most fish store wont stock them cause of cost...

so when they are small you really don't know what you are getting much like black rays
 
some rays when small you can tell they will be something special and others just surprise you... mike(h2ocustomaquatics) also has marbleds in from time to time as does alex @ fishroomplus who might still have a nice pair for sale right now....
 
Here are pics of my female. First is the day I brought her home (March 2006). Second is a few months later (August 2006), and third is last weekend. She was about 8" when I bought her. 11.5" now.

Here is my male. Took these pics last weekend. He's about 8.5" dia. I think something took a bite out of the front of his disk when he was younger.

i can't believe the transformation on the female
just spent some more money on my fish room hopefully i will have something running soon. keep me posted on that pup thanks for the pics.
