Hey everyone, I am working on a predator showcase tank. My clown knife will be the star. This is going to be a plywood tank about 350 gallons:drool:. I am just curious what predatory fish do well with the clown knife. He is at 7 inches now and in a 75 gallon tank.

Any good tank buddy suggestions...

I went to the LFS today and they had a jag about 6 inches..... but I didn't think it would be a good idea to have my clown with him so i left him at the fish store.

I plan on keeping the clown knife in the 75 until he is about 10 inches then he will go into the ply tank.

ANYONE?:D

Well i have 3 aro's, 3 mono pbass, and 3 cats in with my 14" Clown and all do great together...

i have 2 of my clowns in a 75 gallon tanks. they are both about a foot long.
they do well with 2 managuense (jaguar) cichlids , 2 silver arowanas and a jardini.
atleast for me they do well.

it's pretty easy to put predator tank together... but it's hard to make the CK a star...=/ hmmm.... gars? polys? oscars? the aro and other more active fishes will surely steal the show... unless. The CK would be the biggest... then perhaps that would put him under the spotlight... then you'd just hafta worry about the others outgrowing him...=/

i had to seperate my royal and CK from my other fishes as they were getting outgrown pretty quick!:(

I would go with a bunch of large polys
endlis, ornates, lapradeis that stay quite motionless most of the time. a nice catfish too and an aro to fill the uper parts of the tank

hi when i had my last clown[14-17 iinches] i had it in with 3 paroon sharks about the same size.the clown would have the odd nip at the sharks .but more or less they got on with each other.
i have lost a cou[le by puting them in with snakeheads&tiger shuvelnose's they did not stand a chance. as soon as the light was out the snakeheads ripped them to bits

blue aros
dats
large spiny eels
gars
large polys
large catfish
any thing not aggressive

you think a dat is a good choice??. i love dats

If you want your CK to shine...I'd say get a bunch of Dats and just have that single CK. It'll really stick out since Dats are stripped and CKs have spots.
