Hi, and thanks for your comments. Sorry to hear about your dead ATF... Was there much aggression between your fish? There was with mine, they were on their own in my tank and really laying into each other, so I bought six Scissortails the same day. As soon as I put them in, they shoaled with the ATFs and all fighting stopped, they've stayed together ever since.
I know the scissors will be lunch sooner or later, but so far i've never seen an ATF even chase one, but we'll see, all i know is what i've seen so far..
Got a few Redeye tetras in there too, for future lunch, they're too big to swallow and the ATFs don't hassle them, also a 10in Black ghost knifefish.. everything stays well away from him! By the way, i'm feeding the ATFs on bloodworm, chopped fish, krill and the occaisonal neon.. the tank is 6ft, 130gal, has 2 external filters and one external heater. Here is a pic...

I currently have 6 ATF's. Of the 3 i was suppose to get on the 16th, 1 was killed by the other two (was being held by the guy from the local lfs at his house)1 of my smaller ATF's has a bad bite to the tail /flesh end.
I to have dither fish. I used danios and lemon tetras. They're slowly disappearing. I added a powerhead today, RIO 2500 with a "duckbill" attachment.
Added a reed fish yesterday and hope to add other birchirs in time.
The tank is 60x24x30" (24" water depth). I hope to upgrade to an 8 to 10 foot tank by the middle of next year.

dam u guys everyone in so cal is geting the atf bug. i love it well not really bc u all have money to buy alot of them. i have loved them for a while now and when i came back from iraq i finaly could start a tank again with my combat money so i got a couple. i want more tho. we should start a club 4 sure
