My brother picked up this flowerhorn a week ago and he doesn't really know much about fish, he has picked up a ton of really aggressive fish. Well he put this flowerhorn in the tank and our 12" clownknife bit him up pretty badly. I had to set up my old planted tank today to try to heal it...

i'm currently treating it with mela/pima fix. I also added some aquarium salt in there.

Do you guys think he will survive?

yea probably take a lil while to heal... just watch for diseases... I duno too much about if the melafix or pimafix works... lol just has a funny smell to me... dayum that Ck fooked him up good eh?? goodluck bro

Yes, he should be fine given good water conditions.

Lots of water changes will benefit him more than relying on pimafix or melafix (which means you won't be able to do as large of, or as many water changes if you go by the directions), though continuing with the salt won't hurt anything.

If the wound starts to look infected or gets worse then you may want to treat with something.

awesome, thanks for the input i just hope he gets better. he didnt eat for a while and i put 2 feeders in the tank with him but he finally ate one a few minutes ago :)

that just external damage, that's very easy to treat.

but main thing is clean water, i really recommend you put some fungus control because that female flowerhorn start growing fungus on her body, raise your water temp up to 85-86 degrees but add an air pump to support oxygen, and add some salt.

wow he is f*cked up holey cow... he should be golden though

mmmm will do

no need to let that fish eat any food, specially live feeder fish. if your flowerhorn kill those fish and not eatting, that just polute your water and will carry more deasese.
just feed your fish until she recover completly. some of my flowerhorn even starved for 2-3 months.

good luck

Maybe you copied the wrong post. I never said anything about live feeder fish, lol.
