Well I built one in the past out of an acryllic sump so I was able to just drill it and install a bulkhead for the drain, now with a Glass 29g wet/ dry I can't find anyone locally; there is one guy learning but I don't want him practicing on my tank. What is the best way to remove water from the sump short of letting it overflow. Links to hardware would be great also. I have everything else planned holes in floor to basement are drilled just need to get the water downstairs. Also don't have alot of extra space in my sump. HELP! My Jacks need their 2-4 GPH waterchange...

I use a float switch and another pump. Works great.

Actually going to make a DIY overflow from 1/2" and hard plumb it to my basement floor drain, the sticky had a couple of good ideas for the low flow. Since I have the PVC I figure I will try it that way first.

just make sure there is no way it can get air in it. I've had a very wet floor because of that.

I've got equilibrium right now... set the tee where I want the water level which is slighty more than a 1/3rd of the tank. Here are a few pictures of it. The intake is about 2" off of my sump floor. Need to get and install some ball valves but with a blizzard outside figured it was safer to stay in. Here are a bunch of pictures. Right now I'm dripping 2 GPH into my tank, does anyone have the info on what percentage of a water change that equals as its not really 2/3rds as some new and some old go out? Water is dripped into the tank, to the overflow to the sump and out through the overflow in the sump. I love DIY stuff and many thanks to the wife for letting me drill holes in the living room floor for this project....

Oh yeah forgot to add the filter bank on the wall consists of a single and double filterguys housings but I went to menards and picked up a package of 20 micron and 5 micron filters filters as they are the same length. My water contains no chlormines but does have chlorine. The filter goes as follows: Water from cold spigot-> 25 PSI Regulator-> Dual Housing containing a pair of 20 micron filters-> single housing containing a 5 micron filter-> RS100 Inline Carbon Filter-> Check valve-> 2GPH Emitter also there are misc on/ off valves to help with changing filters out.
