Well First Off, Some may know me, Some may not. I am a 14 Year Old guy who is really into Herpetology. Lizards have caught my attention the most. I currently am only housing A (Soon To Be) Breeding Pair of Crested Geckos.

But, I like to know that I did something to make an animals life better. And im sure most of you know that Green Anoles are thought of as beginner pets that can be shoved in the smallest of tanks alone. Well if you know correctly, that is far from the truth. They are an amazingly active lizard that needs their space. So, I have decided to give them their space.

I soon plan to get a colony of 1.6.

And I also like knowing I built something for the animal...

So my friend traded me a 125g with a single broken pane. I traded him 4 Apalone spinifera... But anyways...

This is what I started with----Sorry it is the only pic i could find without the side... I was bored and decided to take a nap...lol

I then finally, after about 6 months, got my ideas straight:irked:. I then got the silicone and had everything sorted out.

Here are some pics of in the process.

I have that Heater fan in their to test to see if the screen is holding in heat... ANd so far it is holding it in!

I will Keep updating this thread, as I add new things to the enclosure, Im thinking maybe a misting system... and eventually the anoles!

Looks pretty sweet so far. Are you planning on adding lots of live plants?
Im not sure if i want to go live or not.... I would rather a bunch of fake vines and some driftwood to hold that stuff up...

Do you think live or Fake?

if i did something like that i would plant it heavaly and add a different species for the ground level of the tank, maybe a box turtle. another cool thing to keep with them would be... a ball python. ive heard of several setups with this combination

I personally would go with live plants. As long as they have decent lighting and that you remember to water them, live plants look much nicer in the end. Plus they help hold in humidity. You can still add driftwood and fake vines to the setup as well. Of course it's totally up to you.

As for the above post: no box turtles, no ball pythons. :irked:

What plants might you recommend seth? Im just going to get a few live plants i think... and then fake vines and so on..

yea.... i ignored that post too.....

Im getting/need these things for the tank still...

hygrometer,
Thermometer,
Vines,
more wood,
full spectrum uv light,
Spot light 65 watt
I might get some sort of cheap misting system, or just mist manually...

what else would you suggest?

Lets see, I guess it depends on what you want to set it up like. You could do a Southern US theme and use native plants from that region. Or you could use some of the cheap, easy to come by house plants. Such plants would be Pothos, Draceneas, Hibiscus, Ficus, Bromeliads, Spider plant, Chinese Evergreen, African Violets.

If you can find one you should try and get some blue phased Anolis carolinenisis!
