A couple of weeks ago he developed a small blister. I started to treat him in a hospital tank to no avail. The blister has developed into what you see below. Gross, I know. I have treated him for a parasite and fungus. He is still eating and swimming around. Does anyone see a chance at this ever healing? It does not look good I know. Should I euthanize him? Thanks.

Ouch; that's a nasty looking wound. It looks like someone was trying to perform brain surgery on him!! How deep does it go, can you tell? If it doesn't go too deep, I would say he can recover as long as the wound doesn't get infected (of course the other question is: How did this start?). Really clean water, melafix, maybe something like Maracyn. Good luck; hope he comes around for you!

holy mother of god! that is one crazy wound right their!! man that just gotta hurt...its like something just started eating him alive! hopw it gets better though

I am not sure how it started. I keep my water super clean. I never let nitrates go above 20-30 ppm. The water is a bit green now because of the meds. The wound is deep, all the way to the bone.

Ida already put him down when it didnt react to the treatment. It hurts me just seein it.....

Looks like one of those flesh eating bacteria. I know you love him, bu I would put him down. Sorry man :(

I was afraid you guys would say that. No chance at healing huh?

Put him down. It sucks but it's got to be done.
