I used to have ten ottocinclus in my planted 4-foot tank. The weird thing was that all of them wiped out in less than half a year. Thereafter, I bought 5 and now I'm left with 2.
I provided them with algae wafers and aeration. Here are my questions:
1. How long can an otto cat live?
2. Any idea of the fast mortality?
3. Any ways I can keep them for at least more than 1 year?
Other inhabitants living happily are: cardinal tetras, corydoras sp.
Now I'm beginning to shun away from keeping them. Don't feel like wasting their lives...
