Trying to Breed my own ghost shrimp, Somebody help me with the basic. I will be getting a 10gallon tank for them. Wat type of water, food, Temp., pants. Should i have a filter on the tank? I will only have the shrimp in the tank too.

I think the baby shrimp need salt water.....But then again some people say they do it....I think it is kind of difficult.....

Ghost shrimp are a pain to breed, the offspring need special care and water conditions. I you want to breed shrimp for food get some cherry red shrimp or another easy to breed species. Then you'll be able to trade them in at the fish store.

old thread .... but basically make sure the water ph is in he alkaline range. around 7.4 they will do well. 71-76 degrees seems a good temp to get them to breed. live plants add to success of breeding. be sure to change the water each week, as they have very little tolerance for nitrates. also, be sure what you feed them does NOT have copper in it. they cannot live in tanks with levels of copper (some foods have this). buy some pellets or shrimp or fy feed hat doesn't have copper. hope this helps
