How fast do Florida/Spotted gars grow?

I know they get around 24" but I was wondering how fast do they grow?
 
I would figure on about an inch a month until they reach about 16" and then it's slow growing from there. you'd be lucky to get one that reached 24" in captivity.

mine slowed down at 13-14inches

they're all different...this is just from my experience.

exactly.

we had one that slowed at 13" and the rest shot to 16". it's safe to say that they will most certainly reach 13+ inches in the first year (w/ proper care) beyond that each fish will vary in growth.

Flroida Gars only get 24" inches are you guys sure-I though they atleast attained 4 feet-reason being why I never got one?

these are captive max sizes...you are refering to wild max sizes.
 
WoW! Awesome so you are saying in the aquaira they peak at 2 feet-Florida Gars-Wow-would they be a good mix with cichlids or are they too passive?
