i cant figure out what kind bichir this is...... btw, not mine just caught my eye in the photo lounge area under title topic "dragon's lair".

Which one? I see several species, including endlicheri, lapradei, and delhezi.

Edit: Doh, I see that your arrow is pointing to a delhezi. :)

not the delhezi.... the one right below the delhezi and right above the senegal.

I am not shure but I think it's a Polypterus "zaire green'.

I agree with Loubard.....Polypterus sp. 'Congo' - the Zaire Green.

Hmm... i personally think its a palmas of some sort, not palmas polli but possibly palmas palmas or possibly a variant of palmas buettikoferi. It seems to have the yellowish buettikoferi tinge to it

It looks drastically different than my zaire green, but i know from comparison to other z-greens that mines on the more plain side.
My z-green is patternless

That's my guess (not 100% sure though). Zaire green aka an elongated version of weeksii (or a mix version of weeksii/ropefish) which has a long/skinny body with a big head and flat mouth, also the 1st dorsal spine start at more rear location of the body than any other bichir species.

its definitely not a zaire green. i recognize the fish and its either a different form of the palmas buettikoferi from a different population/locale or palmas palmas (unfortunately i can't really narrow it down one way or the other due to confusion over what exactly does a palmas palmas look like)
