So I took a trip to Texas 2 years ago, my first time ever there and being an avid Bass fisher from Maryland the largest I've caught was a hair over 9 lbs. Well feast your eyes on this beast! 13.2 lbs 31"! And this was post spawn, oh how I wish she had been fat and full of eggs! I was putting around on my ex's fathers pontoon boat on his 40 acre lake on his 400 acre ranch in Kerrville (near San Antonio) when I saw something BIG chasing a smaller fish literally right up against the bank, I threw a big silver/red rattle trap in it's direction, I got about 4 cranks in when BAM! my rod tip dipped and I knew I'd got her, then about 60ft away from the boat I saw the biggest bass I'd ever seen jump a full foot out of the water! Well you can imagine the obscenities that we're flying out of my mouth! Took me about 15 minutes to get in the boat. Man, I can't wait to make another fishing trip to Texas!

FYI, that's my ex's son in the second pic, he was terrified of this thing

Here's some pictures of the place I caught the 9 pounder, one of my favorite local fishing spots. It's an old sand/gravel quarry, off limits to the public but I know the property manager and he let's us fish as long as we bring him a 12pk of Natty Bo. There are a total of 6 ponds the largest covering well over 20 acres and 90+ ft as it's deepest. There are a few jon boats around the property. It's a great place to fish and it's not uncommon for each of us to catch 30-50 bass a day, there's also big Chain Pickeral (24"+) and big Crappie (14+) I usually don't carry a camera when we're there but my boy always has a disposable, I'll have to get some pics and scan them.

Nice catch, too bad post spawn or that fish would have easily gone 15lb! Are you putting her on your wall?
