A few of these pics have been posted so far but i figure i'll show you guys the rest of them.
First pics is just in the setup stage.
Second and third are tank set up (cycling) with temp lighting till i finished making the lid.
The rest are pics of my custom lid and finished set up (love those moonlights).
More pics to come when ray arrives and when i finish building something to cover that ugly tube stand (didnt want to buy/build a new stand as i will be upgrading this in the neer future)
note: tank now has 2 air stones not shown in these pics just for added oxygen/looks

enjoy :)

what size is the tank? and what ray are you getting?

hahaha I know where you are going with this :D

Ronin_Man.. this is a really nice ray set-up. Well thought out and thanks for doing your research and asking specific questions :D don't forget though, you will have to probably upgrade to something a bit wider in the future.. think 300g+

sigh... im getting pretty tired of this
people just assuming that i am jumping into this knowing nothing.
that said, i know i have alot to learn and always will and i know that this 150 will not do as a forever tank only having a footprint of 72x20, but as i posted "didnt want to buy/build a new stand as i will be upgrading this in the neer future"
and yes i have been looking at around 360g
im not saying this to be a jerk about it and i know you guys are mostly just trying to help, but i dont think i need this on every single post i make

Hi Ronin-man, lookin good, bet you can't wait !

Is it just my eyes/monitor or is the stand bowing slightly in the middle of the tank ? I'd guess the tank is at least 5ft long and that's a fair length without anything holding it up in the middle. May be worth considering an extra support in the middle ?

Martin

Looks good....couldnt tell if you have a backup heater along with a heater guard or not?

Cant wait for updates! Love a member that does his research!!!!:headbang2

lol martin, actually it is bowed about 1/8 inch in the center, althought its mostly my camera angle as i took the pic from fairly low to the ground. when i make my case to cover that ugly stand i was planning on doing some extra support with some 2X4s anyways
(good eyes though) thanx :)

2x 300w fluval heaters both with heater gaurds(if you look in the bottom pic you can see both heater lights on, the plant kind of covers it)

heh.. I was just beating Kevaldo to the punch-line..

After you hang around here long enough, you will be surprised to find that alot of people think their 150g is the 'end all of huge massive tanks' and so they want to get a ray because finally they own the 'end all of huge massive tanks'.. and then think we are all blowing wind when we start saying things like "4 feet wide"..

Like I said the first time around good work on doing the research ;)

lol thanx miles, but i do have to admit when i first got this tank(10 years ago or so)
i thought exactly that (end all of huge massive tanks) im sure we all did at some point or another.
boy was i wrong... lol
at that point in time thought i had only a part time job and no plans for anything huge, it was a african cichlid tank for the first few years of its life.
