Don't know if theres a thread on this or not ( didn't find one with the serch function )

Just wan't to get every ones opinion on heat rocks i know there are Pros and Cons to them so lets here your opinion on them

I personally use one for my leopard gecko i plug it in around a hour before i turn the lights off and unplug it when i turn the lights on in the morning partly to save electricity but minely because i'm worried about the hole sorting out and cooking my Gecko thing

I'd pass on using heat rocks to cons outway the pros by alot. Just use an undertank heater for over nights.

Pros- No pros
Cons- Burns, overpriced, heatmats and heat cables do a better job, nobody likes them and everybody will make fun of you for owning one.

:grinno: i do have heat mats and understand there Simply better

But i'm sure i'm not the only one who bought a heat rock before hearing the Experiences of others Gonna get rid of it though

ya, im one of those pple lol... i own a heat rock but never used it. i only found out after that it was a bad choice....

NEVER use a heat rock....EVER.

Heat rocks never made sense to me, with limited ways to safely use them.

Why not use a CHE or "night" bulb? I think ambient air temp is always better, plus you can pile up some rocks underneath that will become hot rocks, just not ridiculously hot, hot rocks.

Heat rocks are old school, obsolete technology. I really wish they'd stop making them all together.
Yeah i agree i bought mine 6-7 years ago which i suppose is another reason to get rid of it
