Hi, Have I got a Male or Female Jag?

id say female. both pairs ive had the males have had alot more speckling on the tail fin and the females have a little speckling but not covered like the males at least thats how both my pairs were. your fish looks exactly like the 2 females i had. so i guess female
If she is 8 inches i would say she is a female since by that time there usually would be more significant pattern,... but none of this is 100% sure.. there are all kinds of patterns on jags... these days... but i would say most likely female and a beautiful one at that.And welcome to MFK!!
Ok thanks, I thought female as well, she and my oscar who is about the same size really don't seem to like each other, only put her about 2 hours ago but it has been constant fighting and biting ever since and to be fair it's the Oscar that's staring it, do you think it will calm down?

Yeah it really is odd how the dynamics can change, before this the Oscar never bothered any one but seems to have some real hatred for this Jag but is petrified of the 3" Firemouth
