The larger (believed to be the male) is eating like a pig. I have had the lights off since they were first acclimated (yesterday). The smaller (female) will not show any interest in blackworms, shrimp, bloodworms or anything else for that matter. My water parameters are almost perfect with just a hint of nitrate. The temp is 80, and they are in a 75 grow out with Play sand as a substrate. I have noticed today that it looks like there "slimecoat" has thickened and sand is sticking to their discs tail and clasper area. Any idea why this may be? Also any tips as to maybe break the smaller rays hunger strike would def be appreciated.

If you look closely at these two pics of the smaller one, you can see the whitish fungal looking stuff on the tip of the tail and the clasper...
Suggestions on how to treat?

I used play sand once and did not realize it had silic I think is what it was called and it can kill rays. So I had to completely change the sand. I hope someone else knows what I am talking about and clarify. The do make play sand w/o silic in it I just got the wrong stuff and it stuck to them like that.
