Thought I'd share a few pics of my new set up now that its all up and running properly.
After the aro I've been told I'm not allowed to buy any fish until next year, but now I need some better lighting and another pump to increase the flow through the sump. At the moment the inhabitants are;
green aro 20cm
ornate bichir 45cm
2 uaru 18-20cm
rotkeil severum 16cm
3 A. heckelii 12cm (the fouth is in a hospital tank with damage around his eye
8 clown loaches 14-18cm
L27 Tapajos royal plec 8cm

The sev is going because he's constantly having a go at the two uaru, and I've got a G. altifrons and S. leucosticta that are nearly big enough to avoid going down the ornates throat to replace it.

I even made a crappy video... :lol:

Its fins are coloured kinda like a jar, they're quite a dark reddish black colour with whiteish edges, but its definitely a green. Jardini aren't even allowed to be imported to NZ, but there are a few around...

Nice clean tank display... driftwood stump looks good. Like the Green Jardini, as well! :thumbsup:

Nice thick ornate too, looks pretty big. I'd be careful having it with your arow. Very possible that ornate would try to make a meal out of your aro... so be warned?!! :uhoh:

PUMP your aro UP!... then add the ornate back into the tank afterwards. Just my 2 cent$. Anyways, congrats and enjoy! :headbang2

Thanks, I was a little worried when I first added the aro but its already grown a fair bit so it will be fine. The clown loaches or heckeliis would be a much easier target for the ornate as they're more bottom dwellers, but he's well fed and leaves them alone. The size difference doesn't look as much in person as it does in the pics. I'm confident that the ornate would have to be pretty hungry and would have eaten most of the loaches before he'd even think of trying to get the aro.

Nice collection bro! Love the Aro!
