Ok, here goes an update. I know I keep saying I will get some good pics soon, but I suck at taking pics. Anyway, I put a divider in the tank, and one side is my Mota pair, and the other half is the Beani pair. They are still quite into each other and they have both "dropped" their "genital" tubes. The male is very persistant, but gentle with the female. He is quite big, about 6.5-7" and female about 4". Differant "color" petterns on both, and the male has a very beefy head, and a bit of a nuchal hump. They again, are hanging out behind some lava rocks. I left a large enough space, so they can clear the gravel and lay eggs on the glass bottom of tank, if they want. I changed about 50% of the water yesterday, and there was about a 8 degree drop in temp, to 70 from 78, and it was about 76 this a.m. They were both shaking their heads and gentle nudging. I am hoping the shock and new water will stimulate a spawn? I will try and get pics, but beleive me, this looks like a spawn is near. I have a 10 gal. tank set up and eady to go for the fry. I put the mota fry in their, so if anyone wants FREE mota fry, please come on by! Beani juvs, will be sold once available.
