Nice Set-up. Devil's Den is the right title for this thread!

Are Devils naturally occuring in Puerto Rico, or are they an introduced species? I've always been curious as to what cichlids are in Puerto Rico.

By the way, your devils look great.

What i heard from the locals is that they were introduced about 10 years ago , the only endemic fishes there are tilapias (ugly ones) plecos and a few others . but if you throw a piece of meat close to shore you will see thousands of these red devils,Midas, and tons of convicts .

No native cichlids in Puerto Rico.

Fishbase has these listed as introduced. Amphilophus citrinellus, Amphilophus labiatus, Archocentrus nigrofasciatus, Astronotus ocellatus, Cichla ocellaris, Herichthys cyanoguttatus, Parachromis managuensis, Thorichthys meeki, and some tilapia species.

fish base might be wrong im no expert but i know for a fact they were studiyng what they call "Chopas" wish are very similar to tilapias and cubans tetracanthus only washed out ,no black spots ,look up chopas ,i dont know the correct name of it
