Hi Guys, I am takeing reservations for my next trip to Uruguay, 10 people max, cost is $1,550 per person plus your airfare. A nonrefundable deposit is require to hold your spot. Leave November 29th and return Decmeber 12th, so two full weeks of collecting with the best guide in the buisness Felipe Cantera (http://www.aqvaterra.com/), all food, travel, lodgeing, export permits, ect are included in the price, Felipe picks us up at the airport and drops us back off and is there until the plane takes off. While in Uruguay he takes care of your every need. This trip will be going to the Paysandu area in western Uruguay on the Rio Queguay which has never been collected and then up to the north to Tranqueras in Rivera then west to Ricon de Pacheco (Rio Cuariem), Collect the road between Artigas and Salto, then on to the Lagoona at Constitucion, and saving the best for last, the Bella Union region (Rio Uruguay). We will catch many, many species of fish, more than you could ever bring back; Gymnogeophagus, Cichlasoma, Crenicichla, Astroloheros, Apistogramma, Ansistrus, Hoplias, tetras, livebearers and many more. E-mail me with any questions. fishfarm@mindspring.com Ken

We all need to come back on the same flight to Miami to clear customs together. We will fly American airlines, they are the only one who has direct flights to Montevidio. I will most likely fly Delta to/from Miami and use some of my airmiles this time. E-mail me and I'll send you flight info. Last year it cost me $780 round trip from Atlanta, this year $1220. then prices dropped down to $680 the week after I bought my tickets (figures!)
The $1550 covers everything in country from the time you land until you leave. Think about what you would spend for a two week Florida vacation and it really ain't that much! Plus you get fish! Ken

Hmm, I wonder who Rusty got Red Ceible from, he's never been to Uruguay. Eddie bought some F1s that were raised in Florida by the guys Spencer rents space from so he might have gotten them from him.
Last trip we caught:

Chanchitos (Autraloheros)

scitulus “Paso Pache”

scitulus “Cureim”

facetus “Cureim”

scitulus x facetus (possible natural hybrid) “Cureim”

scitulus “Macedo”

sp. “Cuaro” (red cheek)

sp. "Canada de Sauce" (red spot)
sp. “Tres Cruces”
sp "Yi"
I have:
Red Ceible
Yi
Paso Pache
Sauce
Local
We will be going into new areas next year so most likely will find a few new ones, they are in every watershed. Ken

I have 3 other people committeed, 5-6 more interested, we have 3 Americans and German on board now. The deposit is the key to going. Whoever puts that down first gets the spots. Ken

Sorry Ken, said Rusty meant Spencer Jack. Doh! My girlfriend just told me that this would be our honeymoon trip when we get married. That won't be for a while though. I'm putting away some of my income tax for a trip though.
