So it has been a few more weeks. Seems to still have cloudy eyes. THe darker one has had cloudy eyes for about 3 months + You can barely see is pupils...almost looks as if his eyes are real scratched... He was shipped and the ammonia in the bag was 5ppm, i have always blamed the cloudy eyes on him from that.. but.... The lighter ones eyes started to get cloudy a few weeks ago. I have had the lighter one for 2 months now.

I have them in a 150 with 8-10 x turn over. Temp 80-82 upped water changes to 3 a week of 50-75%. Tankmates were 2 hybrid rays that got moved out last weekend, little too aggressive for them and a little to stocked. There eyes are not cloudy.

Anybody have any suggestions? oh yea They eat fine too.

am i over paranoid?

I'm interested to know as well.... I have a Marble with the same exact condition. The rest in with him are fine. Mine wasn't shipped but rather driven... Should have had less bag time then a flight. BUT he could have been like this prior to me purchasing him....

i have a marble with one eye like this. i think its fine. it will go away as he shes his skin. at one time both of his eyes were like this. one shed the cloud. the other didnt.

Doesn't look too bad, I don't think it will affect his/her vision. Hopefully it will go away soon.

That used to happen to my histrix quite frequently.

I never could figure it out. I kept one female for just over 8 years and she had that condition in at least one eye that entire time.

Good to know... I have been thinking water quality, and have done everything possible to ensure that the water is in top notch shape!

I have just never seen this before with rays.

Yup, check the water parameters, and go a week with water changes every second day (50%ish). Salt never hurt either

done it....i went a couple of weeks doing every other day at 50-75%, i have tried the salt avenue too.

Waterparameters with all the waterchanges is great.

ph 7.8
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 20-30 ppm

also running a polyfilter too, turns kinda "red" that means it is removing iron.

Do you age the water, or you're doing straight from the tap + dechlorinator?
