Hey Everyone,
I'm planning on purchasing one of these and was wondering with these dimensions: 6ft L x 5ft W x 2ft H would it fit going downstairs into the basement of a cape cod style house-haven't yet measured anything, but was curious to know if any of you had any problems...

Thanks all!

John

What you can do is pick up a bunch of cardboard boxes (people give them away all the time on craiglist), cut them open and build a cube size (6ft L x 5ft W x 2ft H); then with the help of a buddy, try to carry that down the stair without crushing it, if it works then go ahead and get the Rubbermaid.

u dont need to build a cube turn it on its side then its just a 5 foot high 2 foot wide object easliy moved through a house

its more to see how it will go down a flight of steps to the basement and make a turn... ;)

all you have to do is stand it on end it will turn around the doorways. i moved mine through my house to where i have it now for a sump.

Thanks guys, yeah I was thinking about building something like cafe said-I just don't wanna buy it then scratch my head saying-well now what?!?!? I see it as better safe then sorry! Thats why I was curious to see if anyone brought one of these into the basement w/o any problems...

NOTE: I just measured the staircase leading to the basement of the house I live in now, and from the stairs to the beam is 4ft-diagonally (if bringing an object downstairs)
I'm hoping that the house I'm moving to has a more "fitting" basement!

The main criteria for my next house is a "fitting" basement. At this point, an basement will do.
