I see alot of people posting about the great deals they got on their tanks- I also see alot of people sharing with everyone else the deals that they find, but for one reason or another they dont get the good deal for themselves. So I thought I would tell my story. It starts with me having a 50T tank that I wanted to get rid of- Ive had it posted here before, but its not really a good monster tank( I think it was 30"x30"x12") I bought it new for an octopus I had and it was perfect for that.
So a week or two ago my friend Chester(thehero) sends me a craigs list ad for a 160g for $150- normally I would think wow someones getting a pretty good deal and dismiss it- but for whatever reason I called this time and left a message not expecting it to still be available. Later, Chester and his equally fish crazy girlfriend Jen stop by to go Walmart- as we get inside my phone rings with a number I dont know, but I answer anyway- which I normally dont do- Its the guy with the tank! He starts going on how he got it from his friend and its too much tank for him and he just got a jack dempsey to go with his convict or some other queer,(not homosexual queer- just regular queer) boring combo. So I tell him about my 50T- he goes on to say that with the money he got from the sale of the tank he was going to get a 50g- and then HE asks me if it would be alright to trade even up! Of course Im going to say yes but before I do I ask if its glass and for the dimensions- it is glass with a built in over flow in the middle of one of the sides- but better than that is that the dimensions are 6'x30"x24"! Thats not a 160g its a 220g! We make arrangements for the next day. The guy must have called or texted 10 times that day- like he didnt want to let this deal slip away! As soon as Chester got home from his extra overtime day we went and got it. I gave him my 50 and he gave his 220- I think I got a pretty good deal. Ill tell you about the stand when I get a little more time. But I know someone would ask for pictures so heres a shot of the 50 and one of the 220 during its leak test- which it passed flawlessly
