ok guys, so heres what im thinking.
i have a 150gal display tank with a 33gal wet(only) sump doing only bio filtration, and im wanting to add on a fuge to it.
here are a few pics of my set(old pic but you get the idea) up so everyone knows what im talking about, one of which is a quick (paint) of the set up as i will be useing this is show my plans on the addition of the fuge

ok so heres what i plan to do

as you can see im going to be useing the same sort of set up except i will be going from the main tank to the fuge, to the sump then back to the tank.

the fuge will be elevated slightly higher than the sump as i will be drilling the tank to fit a 3/4inch bulkhead so that the fuge overflows into the sump.

the input to the fuge will have a filter sock to catch any debris that my other filters(ac110 and rena XP4) dont pick up

i have talked about this for a while now and many people have told me i should put the fuge in line after the sump.
but i have chose to do it this way in hope to keep my sump a little cleaner and not worry about as much build up in my pot scrubbies and bio balls :)
of course i will still have a small filter sock cleaning the water that is coming from the fuge to the sump anyways.

any input would be greatly appretiated as i will be starting my project in the next week or so

I like the idea. Especially having the mechanical filtration in the fuge to prevent any waste making it to the other sump. My only thing is though when it comes to a fuge and biological filtration is that I'd think you'd want the scrubbies and the bioballs to have a go at the ammonia and nitrite first leaving the plants with nothing but nitrate so that they will absorb that the most instead of making use of the ammonia and nitrite. But I guess their will always be some level of nitrate so the plants will always be trying to absorb that too..... Damn maybe someone with more experience can chime in.

looks great! one question though .... where do you find a 33gallon?

actually i have 3 of these 33 gal tanks.
some places advertise them as 35gal
buy they are actually 33 gal 36x12x18 inch
if you do the math it works out to be 33 . something something... heh
