Caught my Exotic Plecos eating

So I usually feed my plecos at night... their just too shy during the day.. plus i get very bad glare because of day time.. So night feeding is something i've been sticking to... (Tank is outdoor)

Anyways.. I put about 3 large pieces of cucumbers and within 2 mintues later... they found it.. Tank is a 150 gallon.. i dunno if plecos can smell the cucumbers or not.. but it was fast..

Both my Royal L-190 and Green Phantom L-200 were eating together.. while my huge Chocolate pleco is still just chilling..

happens to me too...

every night i put a slice of zuchini n somehow they can smell a cucumber slice from miles away :D :D :D

it's like that they have a radar for it...

ya.. lol.. I've recently tried potato.. and wow.. my royal eats it only at night.. but he comes out to eat day time... My other plecos.. not so much... but

Sweet potatoes are my Royals favorite! I can only tell they eat it at all during the night,by the color and size of their droppings in the morning. Since the potatoe itself is usually mia.

If I let them they would finish a yam a day...LOL

I've got a Royal, a Chocolate and an L200 all in my Plec tank, too :-) Good taste. And they sure can smell it. Put a mango in there and watch the reaction. I put 1/2 a mango in at night and in the morning there's nothing left but a sucked clean mango nut :-O

hmm... i can try that.. but i hate it when i put sugar stuff in the water.. it clouds up the water..... I tried honeydew melon before...

I might be adding a Goldie Pleco L-014 soon... dunno if thats a good mix.. Those three pleco are all vegetable eaters..
 
An L14 is my next add, too :-) From what I've heard on various forums it's a good match. Mine only get mango the night before their water change. I end up doing 2 water changes a week anyway because there's some major plec poo going on in that tank and I hate the thought of them scooting around in it.

9-10" about that size..
 
also happens to my gibbiceps and bristle nose plecs
