Freshwater Butterfly fish (Pantodon) + Ctenopoma acustirostre
Any problem with this combination? This is for my bichir tank. I've already got a butterfly fish.

I think Butterflyfish are pelagic spawners:D that is, they release many buoyant eggs into the water which then become part of the plankton, floating with the currents until hatching. The fry go through what is known as a tholichthys stage, wherein the body of the postlarval :screwy:fish is covered in large bony plates extending from the head. They lose their bony plates as they mature.[3] Such a curious armoured stage is seen in only one other family of fish, the scats (Scatophagidae:naughty:

I'm not sure how that answers his question...

If they're similar size it should work, I've seen that combo a lot.

I presume from the description, he's talking about marine butterflyfish, family Chaetodontidae. Related closely to scats..

Mayu0203, I have this for you...
