Anyone got one of these creates?

Are they for real or this is a marketing ploy like in "Fierce Creatures"? I do believe these were also mentioned in "Rundown" ...

If they are for real - OUCH!!!!!!!!! i am not swiming in S. American waters.

These critters were part of cave exhibit which is a series of tanks with blind fish, scombs and candiru

Enjoy

they sell a bunch of them here. called great white cetopsis shark.
they rip apart fish but i don't think these are the 'said' candiru fish that ............yeah

hmmm, you are right. When i googled "candiru", it returned catfish that does ... well that does what the plaque says it does. Hmmm, an oversight on OCEAN WORLD ... perhaps i would inform them later on.

Wiki link to Candiru http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candiru

the cetopsis are also a very very aggressive fish
you should see them with other fish

very very voracious carnivore

Unlike what the candiru...does.... this cat gnaws holes into larger fish and eats through it. They generally do this in large groups, so the fish end up being literally skin and bone when theyre done. Very aggressive carnivores.
