JEBO R362 30gal

Its been awhile since i had a tank, catch up with my introduction.
http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/fo...d.php?t=277596

Anyways, i picked up a JEBO R326 30gal aquarium for 25bucks. The canopy also came with the tank, BUT everything was trashed. The old unit for the lighting was rusted and useless so i gutted that. The filter system was missing other then the filter box itself. So what im going to be doing is retrofit some lighting, and figure out a filter setup.

First the lighting was the easiest. I had a homedepot special light i used on my old 29gal with actinic bulb and some other freshwater bulb for plants i think 5k?

Anyways, heres the pic. Only pic missing is the ugly rusted mess.

First step was to clean it up and make room for a retrofit.

I was surprised how close of a match it was lengthwise.

Transplant the internals over.

Since i dont want any water to splash on the exposed internal, i figured using the screen from the homedepot light, and it first and holds itself in perfectly! All i got to do is trim the excess so everything will fit nicely.

Going to wire up everything to the original switches tomorrow and will post pics of the finished product.

Now the hard part, the filter. I want to use the stock media box if possible. So if you have ideas shoot em this way.

The only pics i found of the stock setup, is a powerhead pumping water through a spray bar over media. Now thats simple, but my powerheads inlet/outlet angles are weird so ima have to figure somthing out.

Now does anyone know of someone modding the filter system on these tanks or tanks with the same setup?

Filter, copying the orginal design powerd by a AquaClear 50 Powerhead.

In the future, i might just ditch the whole filter, mod the box and put some lights in it and run a wet/dry or fluval.

I was surprised how easy everything was, took me less then an hour to do everything since i had abunch of aquarium stuff leftover from my old tanks.

The background was a joke, but i kinda like it. I was going to paint it black but i couldnt find my black paint around the house.

Those JEBO tanks are very popular over here in Korea. A friend of mine has the exact same tank, my wife has the 20 gal version and my in-laws have an even smaller version. I was surprised how well the standard filter works on these tanks. I have never tested the water for Ph etc, but in the 3 years my wife has had her tank, she has only had 1 or 2 losses and the rest of her fish are doing great.

Your's is looking great, I love the lights and the background.
