Sex my Festae (fry update week 5)

So after sending a friend pics of the fry, he asked if I could give him 2 females and 1 male...so I need help sexing all my fry!!!:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

Anyways, 5 weeks in and they have quadrupled in size and are starting to venture out on their own in the tank. Funny thing is, as soon as Im in front of the tank with the camera, the mother freaks out, starts vibrating and they all gather together and bunch up underneath a stump. Watching her communicate with them is very cool.

Theres been no aggression at all from the male towards the female so all is good so far.

Really nice pair you have and I love the way you were able to get the shots of individual fry. Advice to your friend....buy 8-10 fry and most likely he'll get the combo he wants. Some fry might not make it but if they all do, he can sell the extras later on. Once again, that's a great looking pair.

Thanks! Yea, I just gave him about 20 to grow out and an MFK sticker and told him to join and start reading up so he could understand how UNEASY it is to sex festae unless you vent up to 5 or so inches.

make a thread and post some pics...or put a poll up to see what the general consensus is. You can usually get a better idea that way and sometimes get the right answer, although I do recall Balton posting a pic a yr or longer ago that had all the characteristics of a female and I would have bet a paycheck on it that it was...but it ended up being a male...so hard to tell with these muthas!
