Well I told Ryan I would take some updated pics of my box turtles, but for the most part they've all dug in for the winter except for this lady. She's a stubborn one and is always the last turtle to go into hibernation. As soon as the temperature consitantly dips down into the 40-50's she'll dig in until it warms up again in the spring. When all the turtles have gone into hibernation I cover them with a big pile of leaves for extra protection. In the spring I remove the leaves and as the ground warms up so do the turtles. If they've gone into hibernation healthy (which mine do) they should wake up in the spring just like they would in the wild.

yea thats some look on her face.
