This sucks. I know, I know, man up it's just a fish. But it was one of my favorites and my 6 year old son LOVES this guy, talks to him every day. I don't have the heart to even tell him, he's gunna be heartbroken.

The mechanical prefilter on my powerhead was bumped off by something. :duh: I found the BGK stuck in inlet of the powerhead face first. All last night he just wandered the tank bumping into things like it could not navigate at all, swimming very irradically. I came home from work tonight and found him dead. The top portion of the face was beat in pretty bad.

Secure prefilters well people! I thought mine was but apparently I was wrong.

On a positive note I guess I finally got an accurate measurement. 11.5" is pretty respectable IMO.

Here a few pics of when he was alive and kicking. Good to put a few pics in of how good he looked too. End it on a positive note. RIP little buddy! ;)

Thanks ocean. It was a Penguin kit I bought with the powerhead so I thought it would be good to go. Guess not....

that must be awful... BGK's are always so awesome... I loved handfeeding mine...

That sucks man. I had a maxi jet 1200 (300 GPH) on a 55 gallon tank growing out a dozen 2-3" senegal bichirs. They bumped the tiny screen cover on the inlet off the powerhead..... I was really upset to find not one but TWO with their heads in the inlet.... truely a sad day.

Sorry for you loss bro :( Truely a cool monster you got there.

SORRY!!!
