Ok I have not posted pics of my main tank in a long time. So I figured while my boy was taking a nap I would get some pics and post them.

The tank is 72x24x30. Currently filtered by one FX5 with 1.5 kilos. of bio max. One 500gram box per basket. And has a 36 watt Turbo twist plumbed into the return. Also I'm running a tetra tec DW 150 for added air to a 4" bubble disk.

I will be adding a new air stone and another filter hopefully soon. I'm undecided on weather I want to see if a small 75 gallon sump would work out in this setup or if I just want to do another FX5. I have a dry 75 sitting around along with 15-20 gallons of bio media and a mag 12 so I wouldn't be to bad off in making the sump. I'm just not sure it would fit.

the current lighting on this tank is a dual bulb 48" shop light. I'm going to change the bulb maybe this weekend to something that is a little less yellow. Right now I'm not happy with the spectrum of light these bulbs give off.

The dorado is a true golden dorado. Salminus maxillosus He's 12-13" and eats shrimp and hikari sinking pellet. He has yet to become a bully of the tank. I'm hoping that he doesn't.

A Tor Mosal. Or as wes had them listed "one rare tor" He's about 10" and eats like a champ. I have even got him to take shimp as long as it fits in his mouth he'll take it. I had two of these but one died of unknown causes. He was larger at 11" when he died over a month ago. That's why I'm glad I bought two.

pseudodoras niger. My newest edition. He's 12" eating pellet. and gets along great with the others. As some of you know I had a huge 30"+ niger when I had my 585. so It was only fitting to get a new one to growout myself.

Potamotrygon motoro this is a fully mature 10-11" male. One of my favorite fish. He gets along well with the cats but I sometimes Have a hard time getting him food. that's why I will feed at least twice and sometimes three times a day. just to make sure he gets food.

Auchenoglanis occidentalis (giraffe cat) this is my big boy for the time being. He's 16-18" and THICK. He will eat anything and everything that is tossed in with him and he'll eat no matter how many times a day I feed. I've had this guy since he was 3" and skinny. Great gentile cats.

Full tank shots. Everyone looks small when you look at the whole tank but there is only one fish currently that will not do 3' in the wild in this tank. So everyone has some room to grow.

would love to see that with an aro and dats just to see something near the middle... prob is they'd get too big:(

I have contemplated aros but I would prefer a jar or lei. and I'm just to worried that the dorado and aro will not get along.

Yup. I've allready started pricing upgrades. I'm trying to see what the largest tank that I can fit into the space the current tank is sitting in. It's not as large as I would like but I still have plans to build something massive. but I'm waiting to see if I can get out of this house first.

very nice tank and stock. how did you do the tile on the bottom?

with a wet saw. and time..... lol It's really not that hard. if you don't have a wet saw you can rent one or buy a cheap one for like 50-75 bucks.
