what kind of sand do you guys use for your rays and would pool filter sand work?thanks

You should be fine as long as it doesn't have silica in it.

I use 3m Color quartz, it's around $20 for a 50lb bag.

There is lots of silica in poolfilter sand. In all sand.

And yes, your rays will be fine.
