Hi all,

On of my Geophagus Altifron appears to have developed a growth above it's eye. He appears to be absolutely fine in himslelf; scrapping with the other Geo's regularly and eating happily. He is fed on Cichlid pellets and occasionally will take a massivore pellet and small pieces of whitebait. He's had the growths for approx. 3 months. No other fish are showing any sign of growths either.

I have done a bit of searching and am led to beleive it is lymphocystitis but i am not sure so was hoping that someone could confirm and whats more, advise on whether i should be worried and what i should do to treat;

Cheers.

still hope someone will be able to help. :)

FWIW the parameters are;

0 Ammonia
0 Nitrite
very low Nitrate (exact numbers escape me ATM but it was the bottom of the chart, what ever that value signifies)

Tank is 180g, upgraded from a 150g

No chemicals have been introduced, other than dechlorinated water and stress coat just after the move. Water changes of between 10 and 20% are carried out every 5 or so days.l All fish are eating happily but my current concern is that this could be transfered to one of my other Geophagus or even one of the other species.

Any help is appreciated.

i cant believe no one has said anything.
tbh im going a bit blind. is it that little red spot? has he not bumped in to anything? had a lil scrap with someone else?
