Well i have had 4 litters from her, she had her last litter in the beginning of September. She is around 15".. I seperated her after her 4th litter to give her a break. I had her in a pond alone for a month, then a buddy of mine needing a temporary home for his hystrix, so i put them in there with her.
SHe was in the pond for the whole last pregnancy and for little over 2 months after the pregnancy. I figured it was enough break and i could put her in the new tank i got.
She is currently in the new tank with the Male that knocked her up 4 times, and a female hybrid that is about 9.5-10". She is getting beat up bad. Not only from the male but even more so from the female hybrid. She has a chunk missing from her disc that is just hangin there.
My question is once they have bred, and the female is volnurable to being beat up, can they ever go back to a community tank?
It seems to me that it is not good for them to breed if you want to keep they as pets, because you always have to move them around so the female;s don;t get killed.
