Hey guys,

A handful of us from a local forum QLDAF.com met up together to pillage Fishchick's store after a new shipment from Peru arrived today after being in quarantine. Unfortunately I did not partake in the purchasing of new and exciting dwarves, as I had simply planned to pick up a pretty standard Tetra order that she was holding for me. For those wondering, we don't get many shipments in, and this shipment brought in a few new species we haven't seen here until now.

I attended with wallet and camera in hand, choosing the usual nifty 50mm lens which proved to be pretty useless for any full room shots, but I still got some pretty nice photos to showcase Jodi's fantastic store and the good time we all had spending money there!

Not all of these fish are from the shipment, and unfortunately I couldn't get shots of many of them, but I did get a few nice photos of the store and figured I would share here even though it's a primarily US forum. For a little bit of background, Jodi-Lea aka Fishchick is an award winning fish keeper and breeder and enters pretty much all of the local and state fish showing competitions. She's recently opened a store in Brisbane, Australia, which specialises in show quality Bettas, Guppies, SA Community species and SA Dwarves, most notably Apistos.

I picked up some of her award winning Glowlight and Rosy Tetra, but there was plenty of money spent there by a few of us and we all left with big grins that outweighed the light wallets.

Without further adieu (and in chronological order..);

Hello sweety! I have to be honest and say that I'm usually not a fan of Bettas, but some of the more advanced strains are absolutely stunning.

Anyway, that's it, but it was a good fun day out and nice to catch up with a few local forum members!

Cheers,
japes.

I love the dwarves. I'm trying to make up my mind on a pair of dwarf cichlids for a new tank that's cycling right now. I still can't make up my mind. I had no idea there were so many species of apistos available in the hobby right now.

I'm leaning towards macmasteri, veijita, hongsloi right now. I might go with some keyholes.

Very cool Japes!! Great photos and really nice looking dwarves.

love the apistos. I am a recent convert to them and am really enjoying watchign them spawn and parent. Fascinating fish

I have a 20g for a pair of borellii and I must say they are awesome! Bummer you guys dont get more of a selection but those ones in the photos are beautiful!
