Howdy,

I always thread my P's food onto a steel leader - that makes it easier to get leftovers out of the tank. I used to use fishing line, but even when they were just a couple of inches, my Ps would bite thru.

I posted here about it and jp suggested a steel leader. Great advice. Thanks again. I've been using it since, but now it's time to replace it with a new one - my P's teeth got caught in the chewed-up leader and they dragged the line plus fishing weight thru the entire tank :nilly:

New leader on top ...

damn, those pirayas got some crazy teeth and bite force. glad that the steal leader is working for you.

Where have you guys purchased this before? I thought wal mart would've been a safe bet but they didn't have it yesterday.

im not a piranha guy but have u tried "Spiderwire" , i heard those lines r tough . cuz it seems that coatin on the steel is not that healthy to ur p.

Sports Authority or Dick's Sporting Goods have them

if worry about the black coating then can buy the uncoated one.

There's a Dick's right next door to Wal-Mart but i got distracted by the pet store next door to dick's and didn't stop by there. Oh well, i'll go after the game. Thanks

spider wire is virtualy unbreakable, you have to cut it with a special tool that comes with the line. just throwing that out.
