I'm looking to replace my 135 with something bigger. The space I have is 72x30, so the new Marineland 300 is not an option, as it is six inches too wide...

I want a pre-drilled tank, and it has to be glass.

I like the Marineland 220H, but it is only 24" wide (72x24x27). Aqueon makes a 210 that is similar in size, but their overflows are ugly as sin.

Does anyone know of a reputable manufacturer that makes a glass tank with a 72x30 or 72x27 footprint?

Thanks for the help!

I looked at Glasscages.com. Their prices are good, but shipping could be huge and I don't really want to pay $210 and have to drive 18 hours to L.A..

Also, I think I would need to have it custom sized - the 240 wide (72x30x25) is nice, but I was hoping for a 30" height.

if you end up going with one of the big name suppliers, Aqueon and Oceanic tanks (owned by the same company) are better built than the Perfecto (Marineland) ones.

for example, if you compare the 220 from Marineland vs. Aqueon (they call theirs a 210), you will see that the cross braces on the Aqueon tank are thicker and do not sag like the Perfecto ones, the glass is slightly thicker (just by a hair, but still thicker none the less) and the silicone seals are thicker on the Aqueon tank.

I compared the 150g versions from each and the difference was quite surprising.

it was a no brainer. Aqueon all the way.

however, neither makes a stock tank that is 72x30 footprint.

Oceanics are good quality tanks ;)

I have an OCEANIC 125 gal with the heavy-duty, glass bracing that runs from front to the rear of the tank. I've also heard that their glass is a tad bit thicker than most other tank manufacturers. I hear good things about OCEANIC tanks and I can't say anything negative about them. So far, so good.

I have a 225 wide (72x30x24) and love it, but for a show tank i would prefer a 30" height. Im not sure of the manufactor on my tank but it looks to be a glasscages tank. It has 1/2 glass with a double bottom and corner overflow.

I have an AGA 210 with overflow. What's so ugly about them?

Sorry, didn't mean to offend. :)

The ones I saw seemed quite bulky and unattractive, but of course that is a matter of opinion.

I talked to the LFS owner (who is also a friend) and he gave me a quote on an Aqueon/All-Glass 210 and a Perfecto/Marineland 220. Both are with double overflow. The price he is giving me is cost + 10%.

The Aqueon is definitely cheaper at $890. The Perfecto comes in at $1249, about $360 less. It looks like I will have to eat my words about the ugly overflows. ;) Actually, the more I think about it the less I like the Perfecto's corner overflows, as one end of the tank is to be viewed.

I will look into Oceanic, I am sure he could probably order from them as well.
