Hello fellow MFKers,

Just letting you know my order from aquariumplants.com is on its way. I picked up one of their own company designed regulators as well as a 5lb co2 tank. As soon as that baby comes in and I have it filled, I'll let you know what I think about it all. This is my first dive into pressurized co2...I've been doin' DIY for quite some time now (it's a pain right in the arse if you ask me). Needless to say, i'm pretty excited about not having to mess with my co2 system but once a year or so.

Hopefully I'll get some pictures up. Scheduled date of arrival is Feb. 15th. I'll be countin' that day down.

nice, do you have a link to the setup? how are you planning on getting the co2 into the tank?

Nice. I'd love to get a automatic system for my nano... What did you get and if you don't mind me asking, how much was it?

Here's the link to the CO2 tank that I ordered:

And here's the link to the regulator I purchased...it's not your typical mechanical regulator though-it uses an electronic valve instead:

I also ordered a permaseal and a small regulator wrench, but the grand total was 271.18 with shipping to central Florida.

Check out the links above. This is a pretty new regulator to the scene but I'll make sure to let ya know what I think and if it's worth the investment. The most valuable part about it is the complete three year warranty.

For using it my tank, I will use for now an ADA style ceramic diffuser. Eventually i plan to do I DIY reactor since it's much more efficient. If you have any advice let me know. I've seen what your planted tank looked like :) Hell, I'll probably be asking for help just to get the damn thing running (first go round with pressurized co2)

I'd love to have one of those regulators. let me know how it works.

ah yes i remember seeing that regulator about a year back. always wondered how good they worked. let me know what how you like it!

I just checked out that regulator, looks very nice. Hope it works well for you. What size tank do you have again?

Ten gallon aquarium - technically a nano in all respects

I just picked up the delivery! Pics and initial review will be up in the next couple hours. Unfortunately I won't be able to get the tank filled until tomorrow afternoon. Then you'll get some pictures of the system actually set up in the tank. :)

Alright as promised, here are some pictures of the delivery that came in the mail today:

First off, here's some photos of the packaging. Well packaged and everything seems so far to have been perfectly insulated from any damage:

Order total, ouch:

Included directions on how to properly operate the regulator. It's so different from other regulators so i'm going to have to pay close attention. Apparently it's pretty easy to damage the electronic valve (sensitive). Probably one of the major downsides to this product:

Alright, on to the merchandise. Everything is photographed next to a standard yellow pencil and a quarter for size reference. I can give you precise measurements upon request.

Here's the regulator wrench:

The regulator itself. I took a bunch of differently angled pictures so you can really get a feel for the size of this thing. It feels nice and heavy. Really comes off as well made.

Here's some pics of the cylinder. It's a nice brushed aluminum. I'm not sure where to look for the last hydrostatic test it had, but if someone could let me know, that'd be awesome.

And some pictures with the regulator and the cylinder together:

Hope y'all enjoyed. I'm going to likely get the co2 tank filled tomorrow. Then I'll post some pics of the system actually running and maybe even a video too. :)
