my tank is a tank with two mesh lids or doors and i cant really keep it humid for long without spraying more water into the tank i covered one of the doors with tin foil except for a hole for the uvb light fixture i dont have heat on that side my substrate is jungle mix, coconut fiber and cypress mulch mixed together and i have a large water dish in it for the lizard is there anything else i can do to keep it humid for longer?

I would be more worried about heat loss and air currents then humity to tell the truth. I think you should post a pic of your setup

Idk About basaliskt but I also have a 40B screeen top encolure im growing my tegu in for now. TO keep humidity in I put damp towels over the screen. Once every day when the towels dry out, I poor water throught them. It helps "mist" the cage and keeps the towels damp. But Im sure basalisks like little more humidity than tegus so I don't know how much that would help but it's an idea.

plexiglass over the top, have a large water tub/bowl in there, do your normal misting and you should be fine.
