It's really a hard decision for me, but if I had to choose, it would be SA. I'm not making this easy with a "both" selection, you have to choose one or the other. I'm guessing CA will take it, but let's see :).

im currently keeping only SA cichlids. i wouldnt mind trying CAs but i have no room for them right now :D

I like both. its to hard to choose a side. ;)

What's your water like?

I'm in the same boat as you. My ph tap is about 6.2, and about 6.5 once settled. It's not impossible to keep CA in my water, it's just a bit harder to get some species to spawn. I love alot of CA, but if I had to choose I would have to go SA.

They both have good species. I probably prefer SA the best but I am stuck with CA because of the tap at 7.6-7.8 and its probably better suited for africans but I am NOT a fan.

My tap is about 8.1 out of the tap (gotta love all those glacier limestone reservoirs) and I have kept mostly Africans. I now keep a little of everything, but definitely prefer CA over SA.

When you consider fish like Herichthys, Parachromis, Viejas, ex ‘Cichlasoma’ , and Amphilophus, it's really hard to argue with such a wide array of size, color, and personality.
