I recently purchased a 55g tank from a friend and am trying to decide on what to put in it. I will only be using the 55g just for a while until (if needed) fish outgrow it. If need be, my cousin is willing to give me his 125g.

I used to have to two red bellies in a 55g a couple years back but sold everything. I am interested in setting up my tank with an aggressive species, whether that consist of 1 fish or multiple fishes. I have thought of getting maybe a common wolf fish but i am a little skittish because i read they are rather inactive. Also thought of a red devil but am unsure of what their diet consist of. I basically just want a fish(s) that i am capable of feeding them feeder fish, bloodworms, etc and that is an active aggressive fish.

Although I once had piranhas i am not throwing the idea of once again having them. I am open to suggestions from everyone so lets hear em. btw so glad i found this site, I have been reading through many threads for the last couple of days. There is a lot of great info here!

I just got a Purple Spilo or serrasalmus sanchezi and I love him... :hearts: He very active and attacks almost everything I put in the tank
He is not a picky eater at all and doesn't really mind the lights being on like my RBPs. And if you only get one you wont need that bigger tank so you could simply put something else in there :headbang2:headbang2:headbang2

datnoids are awesome and a very respectabel fish

one of the problems i have is i live in lexington ky now and piranhas are illegal here. do you think its possible for a online site to ship them here? and if not i could have them shipped to my parents house in ohio. but if i did that would they make it being transported in my car on a 2 1/2 hour trip?

^^^^No they will not ship to an illegal state as far as the rest thats up to you..........
