****Maybe this will turn itself into a sticky*****
I, like many others on this site live all things aquaria. We have spent countless days, months & for some, years learning and maintaining our fish tanks. MFK is a great resource in which you can pose a question and someone who has experienced and/or researched such problem will chime in with sound advice. Almost immediately. There has got to be 50years+ of aquarium keepers knowledge in here. simply Priceless...
I remember my very 1st fishtank. I was 5years old and it was a 55G that belonged to my dad and his 13" Oscar. From then I've always had fishtanks. When I started I would go to a pet store and pick whatever you wanted that was for sale. Without any knowledge of what species is compatible with another, overstocking, tank requirements & overfeeding. We've all been there at one point. My outlook on aquarim keeping changed when I started to ask questions. It opened up a whole aisle worth of fish books and information which has kept my attention up to today.
What I am leading up to is ....... simply
When you don't know, ask questions?.
but more importantly............
Take heed to the advice given!!!
People on MFK will not steer you wrong.
If you don't like the answer given, don't take it personal.
Use it as your learning opportunity. Sometimes, ones personality gets in the way of there success. If you are the type of person whom goes left when everyone's telling you to go right. You will not be very succesful in life, let alone this enjoyable hobby. You will kill fish waste money and probrably be discouraged. IMO It is not responsible nor morally correct to kill fish because you can't be humbled enough to admit you're wrong and take heed to someones suggestions.
