I am still undecided on my 55 stocking but I thought I would make this nice poll to see who is for or against this idea.

1 Tiger Oscar
1 Bichir Senegalus

in a 55. bare.

Let me know what you think!

either then Senegal and a few other small polys or nothing Oscars do need a 75gal....But I have a feeling due to your poll options this is already been decided and your just going to troll

An Oscar gets a foot or more long. A standard 55g is only 12" wide. Imagine living in a closet; you could just barely turn around and it would start to stink in there. Get a 75g, at least. And don't be surprised if the Oscar tries to eat the Senegal

What he said^^ 100%

Ha I'm not trying to troll I have another thread that discusses the option of using this tank for a hillstream setup. I am still undecided.

And I have a thread debating the oscar in a 55 ordeal. I have heard 75% of people against it and 25% say it works fine. I know a man who had 2 in a 55 for life. Not one problem. I saw pictures too but I understand it would not be the most humane thing. Like I said I am still undecided.

How long did they live?

I also have heard people say that back in the day, keeping a pair of Oscars in a 55 was common. I'm just curios as to how long they lived.

I say no O's in a 55. Too much bio load, and not enough room.Maybe it can be done, but if you have ever looked at a 75 and a 55 next to each other, the 75 is clearly the better choice.

WTF is up with your poll?

Obviously you have made up your mind. I mean common..

Against... No way. That is horrible. They both need 75 gallons to themselves. blah blah.

??

blah blah... Clearly this answer doesn't even matter to you.
So why even make a poll when you have clearly made up your mind that anyone who thinks 55 is not enough is just a pain in your butt that is cramping your style.

:screwy:

Whatever floats your boat. With enough filtration and plentiful water changes you could pull it off easy.

(fyi, i had a breeding pair of O's in a 55. probably not the wisest setup but if worked)

living in a closet works too.. would you be comfortable?

Dude said 13 years. That seems totally awesome to me.

I am just a little sarcastic. I totally have not made up my mind I promise. Here is a pic of the 55 Right now at this exact second. lol

I just thought it would be funny to show what I would vote for in a sarcastic way. I'm sorry if that makes some of you a little confused of bias.

Seriously though it is no where near being set up. No fish have been bought. I am strongly considering all options (more sarcasm).
