Who else besides me is interested in the World Cup? This is the only time I watch soccer. I know the chance we have is slim against the other teams but we still have a chance.

this is actually the only sport I follow ......I remember all world cups starting with the '82 one, with 94 being my favorite. We have a decent shot for the second place in our group if we catch Slovenia in a bad day

We did beat Spain, who does still have the best team in the world. But I think we were just lucky and would not beat them again.
Can you imagine the hate the U.S. would have in the world if we also had the best "futbol" club in America? If only soccer was as popular as football, we would defiantly have the best league in the world, better then even the Euro leagues. But it’s not popular and no one watches it in the U.S.

I still call soccer football since is actually played with the foot .....the best club is the result of a very strong league. You can buy the best players in the world but if they are not challenged on the regular bases in a competitive league , what's the point ?
I doubt the sport will ever become popular here ...i case you attended a real game in Europe you will know why .....the term "die hard fan" strarts and ends in cities like Liverpool , Barcelona, etc. While american sports fans are preoccupied with stuffing
their faces with hot dogs and popcorn, over there it's all about knocking the opponents

With all that being said I do hope that we pass onto the second round...that will be a remarkable performance giving the circumstances.
