I am leaving for a fishing trip down there on friday and so far really have no plans other than asking around about good spots (and spending a couple days in key west). Would someone share some good locations for Peacock bass, snakehead, jaguars, etc...? I am not exactly familiar with S. Florida so the more specific the better. Also I have no hotel reservations just a truck and a tent so if anyone knows good campgrounds for tents that would be helpful too. Thanks!! Off to do some research...

looks like the c-14 canal area is a hotspot of snakehead activity near coral springs and pompano beach. Hoping that proves to be a good Pbass spot as well.

I am also interested in the jaguar cichlids, oscars and midas that are there.

i dont really know much bout s. florida since i was only a tourist there once. but while i was there, i had a guided fishing trip , i lived at biscayne and he drove us down south, and we had a nice day out on the water doing sight fishing. although we didn't hook up to that many fish, only some bonefish, some sharks, saw some tarpons ,and saw some other cool stuff. .

there used to be plenty of jaguars in the south dade kendall area all the way south to homestead...lots of midas too.

are you from that area? the canal that runs north of the airport or the canals and lakes south of the airport?

I wish, i'm from the northeast but was down there a few times this past winter. You could try PMing "Louie" he is knowledgeable of the fishing in the area. Otherwise others will be probably chime in.

I will do that. I have seen his name in every S FL fishing thread so far. Thanks for all of the help.
