Hello Everyone,
As a hobby I like to create things mainly around aquatic life. Here I would like to ask the opinion of the people. I have developed a water control system for aquariums and garden Koi ponds. This system controls pH and water hardness and maintains the setting within the body of water and monitors TDS at all times. I have aquariums using this system along with a hand built garden Koi pond the aquariums have been running now for 7 years on this system the system is awaiting the final patent and is patent pending. My 72 gal. bow front housing Discus has a pH of 6.0 a TDS of 20 ppms Ammonia=0, Nitrite=0, and Nitrate = 3 to 8 ppms at all times.
My 180 gal. housing Angels, stingray, and bottom fish cats and so on has a pH of 6.8 a TDS of 75 to 100 ppms Ammonia=0 Nitrite=0 nitrate= 3 to 8 ppms at all times. I do not store water or age it, I do not change the water or add chemicals to the water or aquariums.
The tap water that feeds the system has a pH of 8.5 and a TDS of 350 ppm 0.03 ppms of chlorine. All aquariums remain clean and clear.
This system is disigned to adjust and control pH and water hardness and maintains the setting. This is done from just one water suppy and the system can adjust the settings down or up to acommodate differant spiecies of fish.
Here I would like to ask what one thinks of such a system and if you think that a system of this sort would be useful in the aquatic world. The system is around the size of a medicine cabinet all water is controlled by valves and a TDS meter making adjustment easy.
Thank you for your time hope to here the differant opinions. sassyfishwater

that is definitely an interesting concept. im sure the idea would sell well, especially for breeders and those keeping delicate species. what does the unit use to control/change the water parameters?

second video does not work, and the first just show some of your fish. Sharing information on the system would help.
The videos works good here I am sorry, the videos are on youtube (exotic freshwater fish) and the second one is (breeding angels). why they are not working for you I do not know. These videos were shot before I could share the information of how they are being kept do to the patent process. I have asked my patent attorney about showing the system on MFK, don,t want to mess up marketing of the system with the larger companies. The sytem is protected under the patent laws. That is why I just talk about what the system does. If they think that it is ok to actually show the system I will do so. I have 3 companies looking at the system and you know them hury up and wait. I am going to start a thread in (set up and filteration) here soon. As soon as the attorey gets back with me on whats what. I have a lot of money tied up in the filter system and really don't want to do something to stupid that will cost me in the long run.

hard to tell if it will sell well with out a price. any idea on what one could be expecting to spend on one of these bad boys? I'd be really interested but if the price is too high it might be a deal breaker. I make an above average living for a 22 yr old on my own but i don't think i could bring myself to spend $200 on something like this. maybe if i still had my discus :) any discus owner would be dumb to not make the purchase.

good luck with your endeavor and keep us informed. I'm sure you'll have a large customer base out of here if it goes well

Yes this system works very well with discus. The system design and is capaple of maintaining any freshwater fish whether it be discus or South African cyclids. Oscars, Jack demsies, gars, stingrays you choose the fish the system sets to maintain.

Sounds good on paper. What is the point of your thread ?
If you have actually gone to the expense of patenting your device the logical followup is a business plan. Step one is "How much will it retail for ?" .
If you are utilizing this forum as a sounding board how about throwing us a bone.
How much do you think you will sell it for and when ?

i wouldnt go as far as to call it spam yet. if he's trying to get it patented, its easy to understand why he's not posting the details of how and why it works.
