My GT's are making more babies than I know what to do with. The father does a pretty good job of keep the bigger ones to one side of the tank but they eventually will pick off most of the new fry.

Btw, those who say female GT's don't grow once they've spawned are incorrect. I got my pair at 2.5" and they've bred over and over since the first week I got them. Both have grown a couple of inches since....just rather slowly.

Thanks for looking, hope you enjoyed.

Gorgeous pair!!

I've always wondered what's gonna happen to older siblings when parents breed again. Thanks for sharing!

It's funny how good the fry are at escaping his jaws when he comes after them lol.

Gorgeous pair Balton. I too don't agree that growth will cease altogether once a female spawns but the growth rate will slow considerably if kept in a continuous breeding cycle.

Thank you. And regarding the spawning, she has laid regularly since I got her and yet continues to grow...so now I know for sure. Do you remember who was saying that about female GT's? I can't seem to recall atm. But maybe his did, I gues it's a possibility. :)

Great vid, love the tank set up and a very nice looking pair.

I read that growth stops once the female breeds but think it's more that growth slows to a crawl due to all the energy used in egg production and breeding. I suppose if the female isn't getting enough food to fuel her metabolisom growth may stop but other than that I think she'll just continue to grow very slowly maybe giving the impression she stopped growing. My two cents.

Anyway very clean tank and fish, as always excelent!
