Here&There
I have a pair of ~5" ClownKnifes. I got two so I could watch their behavior and patterning develop. I made arrangements with my lfs to bring one back whenever. I do NOT want to try to raise them together. I know some of you on MFK have had success with this, but I am not going to press my luck. I also only have one tank suitable for a CK. I am keeping an eye on them for signs of aggression but would like some tips from those with experience. What size/age do you recommend separating them?

i would say 12" but i never had that problem i have 4 big CK in my tank.

I have heard that CKs are sometimes OK in groups of 3 or more but never as a pair.

i kept CK and a royal CK together for some time no problem. just got to keep an eye on them and give them enough food.

Once you see any signs of aggression...it would be a good time to separate.

I've had a pair of CK's together that were each 25"+. Never had a problem with them showing aggression towards each other or any other CK I added or removed from the tank. When the lights went out though... anything that wasn't a ck or one of the aro's better hide... lol. Here's a pic.

WOW Super sized CK's! :headbang2

I too have 2 Cks's & a RK all together in a 315 Gallon, they show the occasional nip at each other but nothing more than that - Currently! ;)
